Rohit Bal dubbed as the “Prince of Style” has come a long way from a small rack in a store called Mutiny in Delhi in 1990 to a most sought after fashion designer today. Known for his mind-blowing and sensational couture collection, Rohit alias Gudda has used the same fabrics, embellishments and embroideries that he has been working with for more than two decades in his trendy designer clothes and sarees.
He is one designer who uses lotus motif a lot. He opines that for him lotus is a metaphor of life because the dirty water on which it stems does not spoil or hamper its beauty. He also considers it to be his homage to the Gods.
“… I do believe that there is nothing more beautiful than a saree. Though I don’t do many of them, the saree is the most stunning unstitched garment whether you go for a plain print, a textured one or just a blingy number. The largest number of people in the country still wear it. For their big day, young or old, everyone chooses a sari over a sequined gown — so it will never die, it is eternal,” says Rohit Bal
