Tarun Tahiliani, the famous Indian fashion designer who graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology, New York is a most common name among the most established Fashion designers that we know. He is also one of India’s first International fashion designers. He founded his first up-market multi-brand boutique in 1987 known as ‘Ensemble’. It catered for the people with deep pockets. Even today his designer attires are specifically designed for the affluent class. He was dubbed as the ‘Karl Lagerfeld of India’ by the late super stylist Isabella Blow.
Seven years later, in 1994 Tarun Tahilani launched his eponymous brand that included prêt-a-porter, diffusion and accessories. Tarun’s couture bridal gowns are acclaimed pieces of art.

Since 2009, Tarun Tahilani has being hosting annual bridal shows across various cities across India. An interesting fact is that global brands such as the De Beers and World Gold Council set up booths to tap the potential clients of Tarun Tahilani. He is also one of the founding members of the Fashion Design Council of India, the governing body of the country’s official fashion week.
