Farhan Akhtar Biography
Born to Jawed Akhtar and Honey Irani, he grew up amidst the influence of the film industry. Later his father went on to marry Shabana Azmi. Farhan Akhtar has termed his parents as the “harshest” critics in his career.

He started his career with his directorial debut in the critically acclaimed film ‘Dil Chata Hai’. Farhan and his sister, Zoya Akhtar assisted assisted their father in writing the English lyrics of a song in Lagaan in the same year. Farhan calls this period the turning point of his career. He later went on to make ‘Lakshya’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.
