“Because you are worth it” – says the L’Oréal Paris tagline. Taking it a step further, the iconic beauty brand has put this message into action. In partnership with Femina – India’s most read women’s magazine; the L’Oréal Paris Femina Women Awards honours those women who have made life-changing contributions to our society. These women are the smartest, toughest and most innovative among the hundreds of ladies who are working towards a better world.
The winners may not always be well-known faces; they come from a wide variety of fields that span 14 categories including arts, sports, education, leadership, social welfare etc. Since its inception in 2012, the awards have recognized 35 “Women of Worth”. This year many more of these super-women were felicitated at a glittering ceremony at the Leela, Mumbai. Out of the 62 nominees, 15 shared the limelight with the ‘Tangram trophy’.
The star-studded event saw celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Huma Qureshi and Neha Dhupia among the jury members who presented the prestigious awards. Well-known faces like Dia Mirza, Kunal Kapoor, Mini Mathur, Sonali Kulkani, Pria Kataria Puri, Pooja Bedi, Kalki Kochelin, Neel Bhoopalam and Nimrat Kaur were also at the event to celebrate these women achievers.
Sonam Kapoor, who has been the L’Oréal Paris brand ambassador, has been closely associated with the event through the nomination announcements to the award ceremony held on March 27th, 2014. Katrina Kaif, the current L’Oreal Paris ambassador in India was also present at the ceremony. ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ star Huma Qureshi looked sweet on the red carpet in a metallic grey embellished Innana gown. The pink lips, side-swept hair and metallic cuff completed her look.
Nimrat Kaur takes a spot on the best dressed celebrity list in a grey Komal Sood gown with coral lips and diamond jewellery. The sequin embellishment on the bodice and sleeves makes her otherwise simple gown celebrity-worthy.
Kalki Koechlin, always popular with fashion dresses, chose a Roberto Cavalli embellished maxi in grey and pink. She does look sweet in the simple outfit.
Neha Dupiya looked ultra-glamorous in separates – a DRVV crop top with Ashish N Soni maxi skirt. She kept the look minimal with just a black clutch bag and a big black stone on her finger.
Sonam Kapoor takes the top spot among the best dressed celebrities, in an Anamika Khanna saree with embellished borders and an unique blouse design.
Breaking the prominent nude and grey colour scheme of the celebrity dresses at the L’Oreal Paris Femina Awards, 2014; Katrina Kaif, decided to walk in a glamorous red Atsu Sekhose gown with golden embellishments on the neckline.
Dia Mirza stood out in this golden yellow Neeta Lulla ensemble. Matching earrings and footwear completed he simple yet elegant look. One of the best celebrity dresses in the event.
