Highway is a film, worth waiting for, for it hits the cinemas on the 21stFebruary, 2014. Pack your bags; grab the window seat to enjoy the freshness of its natural narrative shown through the journey on a highway of scenic views.
Starring the very raw Alia Bhatt as a slick city girl, who gets abducted from a highway just four days before her wedding. Her world takes a complete turn on separation from her fiancé and the glitter of marriage soon changes to a confined zone of kidnappers.
Her abductor is played by the talented, Randeep Hooda, who essays the role of a cold criminal, fully aware of the rich girl’s industrialist father and the consequences it may lead him to.Veera (Alia) begins to enjoy the journey portraying a lively character who is seen exploring new sites, new experiences with new people. Whether this happiness lasts on the highway or not is yet to be seen. Come aboard to travel through the most scenic Highway, full of interesting characters and situations.
The leading cast makes for an interesting pair with Randeep Hooda, who debuted with Mira Nair’s ‘Monsoon Wedding’. He is now seen on the big screen with Alia Bhatt, who made a debut in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ with Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan .
The film requires the two leads to look absolutely natural and as real as they can be to commoners. As the story is about an oppressor and a victim, the cast has maintained a non-glamorous look through out the film. They travel together to reveal hidden truths about their journey and characters.
Aki Narula, the ace fashion designer, is behind Alia Bhatt’s raw look in ‘Highway’. It is believed; the actors left all inhibitions and even gave in to try out clothes that were borrowed from locals from small villages at the time of shoot. He has kept a realistic approach with Alia donning track pants and t shirts to over sized men clothing, keeping the authenticity alive. Alia looks absolutely adorable even in simple clothing. What’s notable about Randeep Hooda’s look is the obvious stubble that give him a rugged look and ragged clothes to keep it as raw as the script demands him to be.
