Priyanka literally means a beautiful symbol and Priyanka Chopra – the actress, the singer and the philanthropist has always lived up to that name. Born to physician parents in Jamshedpur, Priyanka Chopra studied all over India due to frequent traveling and went on to become the fifth Indian to win the coveted Miss World title. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Thamizaan in 2002. Priyanka Chopra ventured into Bollywood with ‘The Hero’ and followed it up with box-office hit ‘Andaaz’ which won her the Filmfare Best female debut award.
Soon after came the film- Aitraaz, one of the intial Priyanka Chopra Movies, which earned wide critical acclaim for the role of a seductress and a Filmfare for Best Actress in a negative role. She established herself with highly successful films like Don and Krishh. Priyanka always chose to foray into unconventional roles that of a troubled model in Fashion, a serial killer in 7 Khoon Maaf and an autistic woman in Barfi!.
Parent’s Unshakable Support
All through her high rising and often stressful career, she had the invincible and unshakable support of her parents. Whether participating in the Femina Miss India Pageant at a young age of 18 or indulging in films by surpassing her studies, Priyanka Chopra’s parents were always there for her. In fact, in Priyanka’s own words – it was her mother who made her enter into the Miss India contest.
All this came to Priyanka without any God father or mother in the big bad world of Bollywood. Sheer grit, determination, hard work and insurmountable talent made Priyanka march ahead of others and even outshine them. Priyanka Chopra or Mimi as her father fondly called her has been always close to him.

Her attachment with him can be known from the fact that she has always taken her father to various events, award functions and has even tattooed herself as “Daddy’s lil girl”, that too in his own handwriting. Priyanka’s father was battling cancer from a very long time. This usually kept Priyanka by her father’s side. Whether going for regular chemotherapy sessions or regular checkups, she always got some time out from her hectic schedule, just to be at her dad’s side. Even in Dr. Ashok Chopra’s last days at a suburban hospital, Priyanka Chopra was there at his bedside.

Priyanka Chopra, with her sexy curves and hourglass figure was voted as the Sexiest Woman of the Year 2013. Her ‘exotic’ single also added a feather in her cap and justified this title.
