Fashion repeats itself, the best example would be the bygone polka dots which came under the ‘Retro’ category of fashion, and became an instant preference among the youth or the ‘Sadhana Cut’, which is the fringe cut, that was named after this superstar actress as it suited her the most and was imitated by many, young and old thereafter. As history, fashion too has some iconic historic trends that never feel shy to introduce themselves again. One such fashion clothing is the very urban and chic – Crop Tops!
History of Crop Tops
Crop tops were first seen being worn in the early 1976, by dancers for their rehearsals since they are extremely confident about their bodies and crop tops provide for comfort and glamour both. The trend was re-introduced by Pop Star, Madonna who called for a lot of criticism by gyrating to a song from her album ‘Lucky Star’ in a crop top. Well, that’s the job of a pop star, to be a rebel yet stylish. Many youth took a cue from her, and crop tops were soon seen getting banned in schools.
Who Can Wear Crop Tops?
Crop tops are most definitely for the slim, you may think -but that’s the assumed norm since even curvier women sport it with longer tank tops underneath the crop tops. It looks modest yet funky, and lends the right ease and style to young women.
Our Indian counterpart for the Crop Tops would be the Cholis, we wear along with lehengas and saris. There is nothing, nor can be more feminine and alluring than a beautiful woman, revealing her midriff.
Different kinds of Crop Tops:

Combining the crop top with a sari or a western gown too is gaining foot among many celebrities. If you’re not particularly fond of leaving your stomach bare, then go in for higher-waited bottom wear.
