Suede
This includes a variety of leathers, such as those of cow, deer, goat or even lamb. This type of leather is very smooth. This material can also be easily dyed in different colours. The strap made of this material should be replaced every few months as it is extremely porus and absorbs sweat easily.
Exotic leather
This material includes leather from the skins of alligators, crocodiles and ostriches. But there are two drawbacks attached to this type of leather i.e. it is quite expensive and it is not very durable, making it unfit for everyday wear.
Different colours and textures for leather watch straps
The most amazing feature that the leather watches portray, is that they are available in a variety of subtle as well as vibrant colours. This makes them quite popular and a preferred choice among people. Ranging from elegant shades like black, blue and grey, these watches are also present in bold colours like red, pink, orange and yellow.
The texture of the strap of leather watches vary considerably with their range. The most expensive ones have a smooth feel, making it quite comfortable to wear atany given time. Whereas, when talking about the less expensive ones, their texture is not very fit for long durations.

Life span of the strap of leather watch
Leather watches that are made from cow skin have a life span of about 12 – 18 months ; also their price is worth the time they last i.e. not above INR 3000 approx. The leather watches that are made from suede, work fine for a period of about two years. There is yet another type i.e. the imitation leather, this gives the look of leather but is not genuine leather. With a low price range, straps for watches made from this leather would last for about a year. Last but not the least, the exotic leather is the most expensive one, but its durability is one negative aspect and requires a lot of maintainance.
