Veteran Indian fashion designer, Manish Arora is one of the leading designers who have achieved enormous success not only with the fashion garments but also with the accessories. While he has spent his early life in Mumbai, the designer shifted to Delhi after joining the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The 1994 pass out also won the Best Student Award for exploring magnificent creative imagination in his projects. In 1997, the designer started retailing his collections in India under the label “Manish Arora”. His next label “Fish Fry” was launched in 2001 under the collaborative efforts of the designer and Reebok for manufacturing fashionable sports attires.
Manish Arora has been participating in several fashion weeks consecutively every year since 2000 in India and abroad, including Paris, Miami, and Hong Kong etc. He opened his first retail store- “Manish Arora Fish Fry” in New Delhi in 2002 and also opened one unit in Mumbai only a year later.
He won an overwhelming response for his collection exhibition in the Mumbai Lakme Fashion Week in 2003 and signed a deal with the Paris based fashion house Maria Luisa, inaugurating his export business. He also owns a franchise store in Kuwait called Villa Moda. In 2004, he won the Best Women’s Pret Designer award at the inaugural Indian Fashion Awards held in Mumbai.

In March 2006, the Outlook publication declared him the ‘Best Indian Fashion Designer’ and also featured the designer on the cover page of their issue. He had participated in many international fashion weeks, including Hong Kong Fashion Week, Miami Fashion Week (May 2005), London Fashion Week (September 2005) etc. He has got special recognition in London and featured his collections at the Global Local and Fashion in Motion (September 2007) exhibitions both held at the Victoria and Alberta Museum.
The designer opened the ‘Fish Fry for Reebok’ store in 2007. He also collaborated with the Makeup Art Cosmetics in NYC to create his signature collection. Arora introduced a limited edition of designer watch collection in association with brand Swatch SA.
