Pulled Back

Once the braid reached the second section the hair here was then once again french braided into the existing braids that were crossing over it. All the hair was french braided in and then just normal braids were created until finished.

This look is cute anytime of year, but especially adorable for Valentine’s Day. There are different ways to make this shape using braiding and the photograph above used french braiding.

Rope Twisted Heart

For this crowning achievement you will need to make sure you have a ribbon that is long enough, in your desired colour. You will also need two small hair ties for the ends of the two braids and perhaps some hair pins.

Step by Step guide:

1. Part the hair all the way down the middle so that you end up with two sections of hair.
2. Make sure you measure your ribbon to have the correct lengths, for doing the braids, to go around the head as well as to make the tie at the end.
3. Begin braiding one side of the hair in a regular braid. Have one section of the hair you are braiding covered over with the ribbon so that it clearly and flatly shows throughout the braid.
4. When the braid is complete the full length of the hair, ensure you have enough ribbon left hanging down the end of the braid to be used to tie it into a bow after the braid is wrapped around the crown.
5. Tie off the end of the braid with the hair elastic to hold it together.
6. Wrap the ribbon around the bottom of the back of the head for a nice round appearance.
7. Once again, braid the ribbon into the second section of the hair, as you did with the first.
8. Tie off the end of this braid with the hair elastic, as well.
9. Wrap both of the braids up around the top of the head and place the braids neatly together. You may pin the braids into place for extra security if you wish at this time.
10. Tie the ribbon ends together into a sweet bow.

With a Twist

These pigtail hairstyles for girls with long hair have been produced with a twist for added flare. This twist has been pinned with a cute barrette above the ear and then pinned in place at the back of the head. However, to hide the end of the twist some of her hair has been brushed over it. Pigtails

Pigtails are another option for hairstyles for girls with long hair. Pigtails can be left plain or can be braided.
