‘1985’ year was very lucky for ‘Kapoor family’. Actor Anil Kapoor and ex-model Sunita Kapoor his wife were blessed with their first child ‘Sonam Kapoor’. She was born in Chembur (Mumbai), when she was about a month old, the Kapoor family decided to shift to Juhu, where they currently reside. Sonam Kapoor is eldest amongst her other sibling sister, Rhea Kapoor (age-26) and Brother Harshwardhan Kapoor (age-24). Although she belonged to the film background she never decided to establish her career as an actress. She was trained in Latino and classical Indian dance style, after completing her studies in Theater and arts from United World College of East Asia, Singapore. She planned to take a yearlong break, but her decision changed when she came to know that one of her most favorite director ‘Sanjay Leela Bhansali’, was about to establish his directorial venture and took a step to learn under his guidance and assist him, and the rest is History. Sonam Kapoor made her debut from Saawariya starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
