What you see – Cornerstone is an exclusive men’s clothing store founded by Madhukar Gangadi. This branch in Madhapur started in February 2008 and is one among many spread across Hyderabad and India.
This men’s store has two levels spread across an area of around 1,200 square feet. At the entrance is a New Arrivals board with pieces of shirt material in different colors and patterns on it. There are a few mannequins flaunting the latest trends as well.
The interiors, including shelves, tables and flooring are tastefully done in wood. Large trial rooms, one on each of the two levels, have ample lighting and mirrors within. The store has sufficient space to move around.
What you get – Cornerstone does not have stocks available at the shop. Instead, they have a few formal and semiformal trousers and shirts apart from T-shirts for trial. The trial trousers start from size 28 and go up to size 46, while the shirt sizes start from 36 and go up to size 46. The brand’s USP is that they have as many odd sizes as they have even.
As a customer you are asked to try on the clothes for size, fit and fabric. You can choose between slim and regular for shirts, relax and comfort fit for pants and even with or without pleats for formal trousers. Upon making your choice, you can then move on to pattern and design options from their design catalogue. This includes the collar and cuffs (white or self-colored). Before placing the order, you’re shown the complete image of your clothes on the computer.
Cornerstone takes approximately three days, inclusive of stitching, to deliver your clothes. Else, if they have stocks at their godown / warehouse, they home deliver within 24 to 48 hours. You can either have the clothes home delivered or can have them picked up from the store.
Cornerstone’s fabrics for trousers are mostly cotton, as well as some blended poly viscose, poly wool and pure wool. Their shirts and T-shirts are again mostly in cotton, except for their party wear line, which has silk mix with cotton.
Their range of T-shirts includes striped, plain, polo T-shirts with collars and even round necks. Accessories available at Cornerstone include belts and wallets.
Cornerstone claims that their fabrics are moisture wicking (moisture management), anti bacterial (protects skin and prevents odor) and protect from UV rays. Besides this, they claim to have the largest collection of shirts above the 100 count (count is a measure of fineness of the fabric; higher the better) with the maximum being 300.
Our verdict – Cornerstone is a great choice for bespoke wear for men. What’s more is that there is a lot of variety on offer. Delivery is claimed to be quick too. Their prices are within the normal range. Parking space at this store is limited.
